Part 2 The Hazard Perception Test this is carried out using the mouse and computer and a series of 14 video clips, 13 of these clips will contain 1 developing hazard and 1 will contain 2 hazards. You will need to respond to these hazards as soon as you observe them, you will be scored on a scale of 1 to 5. To get a pass in the section you will need to get a score of 44 out of 75 to achieve a pass in this section.
The Practical Test begins with an eye sight test which you must pass. Then you will carry out a 40mins general driving ability test and 2 of 3 reversing exercises.
Reversing around a corner, turning in the road and reverse parking. You may also be asked to carry out an emergency stop.
You can make 15 minor faults during this test and still pass, but 1 serious fault will result in failure.
A new part of the practical test is, the Show me / tell me questions. This is a series of questions the examiner will ask you at the start of the test you will need to demonstrate that you have a good knowledge of the car you are driving and are able to carry out safety check on the car to ensure it is safe for use. We will provide you with the full set of questions and take you through each section to in order to ensure you have a full knowledge of the anatomy of the vehicle and can carry out all necessary basic safety tests.
