Tests

The Theory Test is made up of 2 parts

You will need to pass both sections of the test to obtain a full pass and get your certificate. We hire out DVD’s which contain the full list of multiple choice questions and the hazard perception clips with full interaction, master the pass rate on the DVD and you should have no problem in the actual test. We also are happy to answer assist you with the theory and answer any question you may have.


Part 1 is the multiple choice you will have 57 minutes to answer 50 questions, this is done via a touch screen computer. You will need to answer 43 questions correctly to gain a pass in that section.

Part 2 The Hazard Perception Test this is carried out using the mouse and computer and a series of 14 video clips, 13 of these clips will contain 1 developing hazard and 1 will contain 2 hazards. You will need to respond to these hazards as soon as you observe them, you will be scored on a scale of 1 to 5. To get a pass in the section you will need to get a score of 44 out of 75 to achieve a pass in this section.

The Practical Test begins with an eye sight test which you must pass. Then you will carry out a 40mins general driving ability test and 2 of 3 reversing exercises.

Reversing around a corner, turning in the road and reverse parking. You may also be asked to carry out an emergency stop.
You can make 15 minor faults during this test and still pass, but 1 serious fault will result in failure.

A new part of the practical test is, the Show me / tell me questions. This is a series of questions the examiner will ask you at the start of the test you will need to demonstrate that you have a good knowledge of the car you are driving and are able to carry out safety check on the car to ensure it is safe for use. We will provide you with the full set of questions and take you through each section to in order to ensure you have a full knowledge of the anatomy of the vehicle and can carry out all necessary basic safety tests.
